This is one of my favourate song. This band is called sum 41, a punk rock band. My best friend send this song to me. He told me that I have left them, but we are still brother! we are the best friend that no one can compare! Unfortunately, I won't meet him when I go back to China this month. I miss my friends so much. The days I spent with is so happy that when I think about it, I cannot help smiling! I like taking photos, and this time I go home, I wiil take as money picture as I can! I want to keep all the pictures in my laptop! When I miss them, I will look at the picutures! It's so sweet!

Tomb-Sweeping Day(Ching Ming festival)

Also known as the Grave-sweeping or Spring Remembrance, Ching Ming, is when Chinese families show their respect by visiting the graves of their ancestors to clear away weeds, touch up gravestone inscriptions and make offerings of wine and fruit.

This day comes from a story of Liubang,a famous king in history.
When he won the war and became a king, he went back to his country with honor. Liu Pang wanted to express his respect and appreciation for his parents, so he went to his parents’ tombs to burn incense. However, he couldn’t find their tombs because of the war. Liu Pang felt very sad, but he didn’t give up.
Suddenly, he got an idea. He took out a sheet of paper, tore it to many pieces, and threw it into sky. At that time, he praised, “ God, Please help me to find my parents’ tombs. Let these small pieces of paper freeze at one place. Lead me to find the tombs.” It was so strange that those small pieces of paper stop at one place. Finally Liu Pang found his parents’ tombs by following these papers. That’s why we put some pieces of color papers under small stones on the ancestors’ tombs.

In these years, American, Korean and Japanese culture become more and more popular in China. more and more people celebrate X-mas, teenagers dress up like Korean and Japanese,

From this year, China set a one-day off to celebrate this festival. It means China government realized that we should pay more attention to our culture instead of the western culture.

Snow again!

Come on! It's snow again!
Yesterday, when I was playing game together with my friends, I found it snow again! It is already the end of March! It is the first time I know that it can snow in March! But one of my roommates told me that it will snow in May! Oh my god! Is he kidding me? In my hometown maybe only snow few times. Now in my home town, it's spring! The temperature is approximate 20 degree! I hate the cold weather! I like sunshine! I'd like to live in a place where has sunshine and beach! I have a friend in Sydney now, and she told me that she hate the hot weather because her skin become brown! I want the colour of my skin to be like iron! My friends always said my skin is even whiter than a girl... In Canada, I always stay in door, and even when I play basketball, I am in gym. It is not good for me. I want sunshine! I want sea! I want warm weather!
Fortunately, I will go back to China for two weeks after final exam! It is great! lol~

War

I had to say taht Saving Private Ryan is a exllcent movie. Tom Hanks, who played as Captain Miller in the miovie, is really great. This movie is one of my favourite. Everytime I watch this movie, my feeling will be affected by it. The answer for the question that is it worth to save one man by sacrificing much more lives is still unknown for me.

This is a movie about war, but it is not encouraging people to fight. In opposite, it is telling people how the fact war is, and use the cruel fact to tell us the thought of antiwar.

In the movie, U.S. soldiers killed the German soldiers who had dropped their guns. Is it right? Most people will accuse their action, but the war is cruel, there is no time for you to think about morality. The things they know are Ally or Enemy, Kill or Be Killed.

The way to stop voilence is use more woilence. That is what I agreed with.

All the PEACE is based on WAR.
Only more power can limit power.
I do not think woilence is a good solution, but if it is necessary, then we need it.

Free Tibet?

These days, I heared something about Tibet. Some stupid guy is still planning to free Tibet! It is ridiculous . Tibet was, is, and will always be a part of China!

In early this year, Dala Lama the leader of a religion in Tibet came to University of Calgary. I do not know why he came, but I do not like him! In the past, dala lama was a slave owner! If China freed tibet, maybe US will stand out and say that China is not respect people's right! Now the fact is some Westen country is promote free Tibet!

Tibet wants to be apart of China for more than half a century! When People Republic of China just set up, Tibet have began to activity to apart it from China under Dala lama's order! Now, it's 21st Century! They still wanna apart from China! Why don't the fucking guys think about what Chinese government has done in Tibet! How can Tibet become better and better! Who help Tibet people improved their lives! If tibet independent, the situation only can become even worse!

Just like Quebec, Quebwec wants to imdependent, for sure that Canada government won't allow this happens! Why China government don't allow Tibet independent is against human rights! There are many area wants to be independent! No government allow it happens! When you said China should free Tibet, please think about your country! Will you agree Quebec independent? If not please do not think China should FREE TIBET!

High Salary or Being happy

Happiness and money are the two crucial factors for people to choose their jobs. It’s not common people get the both from their jobs as they expected. Different people make their own answers to the question which is more important. Some believe being happy is more important than high salary, others hold the opposite opinion. From my own perspective, there are three reasons make me believe that the happiness outweighs the high income from the job.

First of all, most jobs with high salary are laborious and not suitable for everybody. It’s said that “no pain no gain”. If you get more money from the job, you usually need paying it back in other ways. High salary jobs often come with fierce competition, heavy workload or high pressure from the work, which might tough or even vital for a person. It’s not rare to hear people commit suicide for some of these reasons. One of my friends has worked in PricewaterhouseCooper and had a good payment, but to my surprise he changed his job recently. After he told me that when he worked in the company he hardly had a sleep more than 5 hours per day and spent rest of time in boring works such as dealing with papers or typing in front of the flickering screen, I think his choice is reasonable.

On the other hand, the delightful jobs is not so tiring and it could save much time and money. Comparing with high payment jobs, the jobs that make people happier is not so tiring since the enjoyment could largely release your pressure. What’s more, people could save much time and money that should be used in the relaxation such as taking a journey or playing golf, which is common and necessary for people who have high income jobs. People who are happy with their jobs could take one trip during a year or half while others might a trip weekly or monthly because of the high work stress.

In addition, as the propulsion of working hard, happiness is more powerful than cash. If you love your job you will do your best to finish it and will never miss any chance to improve it. For instance, Some successful male programmers in Silicon Valley love their jobs so much that sometimes they called the computers as their girlfriends. They definitely put all their soul in doing their jobs and that make them excellent and perfect in their jobs. But if people do their jobs just for money, they are not so much enthusiastic. They might do other irrelative things at work, or when they find a small mistake but they just leave it alone because it’s not relate to their payment. Happiness is an intrinsic and consistent drive for people working more hard, actively and enthusiastically.

Being happy with the job could save much time and money and it makes people work more actively and effectively. contrastly, the high salary job just bring more stress and pressure. So I put happiness with job into a more important place.

Midterm Summary

Eventually, We finished midterm!

Let's review it.

First is writting.

The topic was posted on Blackboard at 12 o'clock, three hours before exam.

Therefore we had 3 hours to do prewritting, and collect information.

Before exam we were informated that we just need write outline and final draft.

Even we only this two item.

I spent 2 hours on writting, an out line and a 400-word essay.

For me, writting is still a shortage.

The following test is Reading.

There is only 1 article on the paper, and it is about bio-tech.

The reading is not too bad.

But the last question about compound word and compound adjective.

I think we can use all the woed from the article,

But in fact it seems we can only use words from first part!

Damn it!

I always careless!

The last exam day, we had two exam.

Speaking & Listening

My toefl speaking is only 15 in 30!

I don't know wether I did a good job this time.

The last test listening is a surprise!

I can understand the lecture.

If all the question is multi-choice, I am confident to find the correct one.

However, it is not.

I cannot write all the detail down when taking notes!

And the last part numbers is confusing~~

Above all, my midterm is not woderful, but it is also not too bad.

OK.

It is already past perfect tense for me, just forget it!

The coming Festival

Spring Festival is coming !

The most important festival for chinese is coming!

To celebrate this festival, I, Nick, Kevin and Kevin's friend had a big dinner. Each of us cook one to two dishes. I made curry potato chicken. Nick made year cake, and sour sweet beef, Kevin and his friend made dumplings, seafood fry noodle and a soup. We enjoyed the big dinner. Kevin's friend is a canadian who has lived in Taiwan Province for about two years. He can speak a little simple Chinese such as "Happy New Year", "Hello" etc.

During the dinner, we talked about the heavy snow in north China. China now is suffering a heavy snow and cold weather. North China normally only have less than one week colder than -4, but now, it has kept below zero for half month. One of the main railway, JingGuang railway was broken down. This is the pictuere of the square of Guangzhou railway station。

Now I am a EAP II student! I skipped EAP I! It means that I have saved about 4 month! It is really great! Time for me now is so important that I cannot waste any of it. I need work hard and get into University as soon as possible. As I waste 1 year in a college in China, my English got worse than I used to be. I need to catch up with others! I am as good as the others! I just need to study hard! I chose my way, so I need hang on! My choice, my responsibility!

As I know, EAP II is not as easy as EFLP, but I like chanllege! Chanllege inspires me to fight for my goal!

I will do my best in this level and improve my English as possible as I can.

I do not like to write blog. As my friends know, I have blog, but I update it maybe once a month! I am too lazy to do this! I will try my best to update this one as often as possible!
